Our Beauty Routine For Balmy Summer Days
Summer is well and truly here - and it feels so good! Even though grey clouds are sneaking back in above us in Dublin this weekend, the temperatures are still balmy and warm and plenty more sun can be expected, as can BBQs, weekend walks and holiday adventures. We’re being naturally drawn outside, whether to the garden and the seaside, to soak up the energy and nourishment offered to us by the Sun and the Earth as midsummer rapidly approaches.
The summer season brings with it peak energy levels and abundance for all in nature, including us. The hedgerows are full and buzzing, and that spirit, that has the birds singing and the bees busily buzzing, should be ample within us too.
The warmer weather calls for everything to be lighter and brighter – seasonal eating draws us towards fresh salads and ripe strawberries, we’re pulling on short sleeves and sundresses, intuitively reaching for lighter linens and cotton, and it feels as though our make-up and beauty routine needs to be lighter too. We're sloughing away all things heavy and dense to be able to feel the full optimism and exuberance of summer.
Everything feels as though it needs to be easy, effortless and joyful, so we instinctively leave behind heavy creams and bases for tints and sheer, light make up, while also spending time buffing and perfecting our skin so that we can feel confident showing it off at its very best all summer long. We want healthy, glowing, subtly-gleaming limbs to poke out of pretty sundresses and floaty short sleeves.
This is the time of year where Retinol products come into their own, where we’re reaching for Vitamin C to brighten, Hyaluronic Acid to plump and hydrate, and SPF to offer protection from long days under the sun.

We’re moving towards lighter serums and gel-textures to keep our skin feeling fresh and unburdened during the day.
